Studies and Research Center on Restoration

Since 1991 the Castle of Lurano hosts the Studies and Research Centre on Restoration. The Studies Center name was given in honour of Giovanni Secco Suardo (1798-1873), a prominent figure in the Italian restoration scenario.

The Studies and Research Center promotes initiatives such as conferences, seminars, conferences, the creation of archives and databases, cultural and scientific exchanges at national and international level, projects in developing countries and editorial activities, in collaboration with national and international institutions in the sector. It also has a library, a video library and archives relating to the history of restoration (National Historical Archive of Italian Restorers – ASRI) open to public consultation.
